Amani D. Briese

Peacefully, on Monday, January 17, 2011, at the Riverview Health Centre, Amani Briese passed away at the age of 66 years.

Amani was predeceased by her father Martin Briese, January 14, 1999.  She will be lovingly remembered by her mother Gisela Briese, her son Marco Kohnke, daughter Tanja (Adam) Boone, granddaughters Savannah Kohnke and Mayzie Boone.

Amani led a fulfilling and rewarding career as a registered nurse at St. Boniface Hospital.  During her career, she appreciated the opportunity to provide 7 years of nursing expertise in Saudi Arabia.  Upon her return to Winnipeg, she resumed her much loved calling in providing care for those in need back at the St. Boniface Hospital.

Amani's primary focus throughout her life was her family.  Realizing the importance of spending time with those she loved, Amani decided to retire.  This coincided with the start of her courageous battle with cancer.

In accordance with Amani's wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, January 21, 2011, at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd.  The interment will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens .

The family wish to thank all doctors and nursing staff who helped Amani and her family throughout her battle.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Amani to CancerCare Manitoba.
