<div itemprop="description">It is with great sadness and love that we announce the passing of Tom after a period of declining health due to Parkinsons with LBD. <br> <br>Tom was born, raised and educated in San Jose, Costa Rica. He came to Canada in June 1956 and to Winnipeg in March 1957. <br> <br>Remaining to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years, Margaret, and 3 wonderful children Sandy (Dean Bauerlein), Val (Neil Asbury) and Tim (Deb); 1 awesome grandson, Austin and 6 gorgeous granddaughters, Mackenzie, Theresa, Samantha, Mikaela, Courtney and Erika; sister Margaret Jones (Cecil) in Moncton, N.B.; brother, Bill (Margaret) in Etobicoke, sister-in-law, Norma Peters in Saskatoon; several nieces and nephews. <br> <br>Tom enjoyed his association with Transcona Kinsmen and K-40 Clubs; Transcona Senior Curling Club; Garden City Golf Club; he was co-owner of Grumpy Old Men Construction Co. Travel included trips to Costa Rica, Canary Islands, Mexico, cruises to the Caribbean, Alaska and the Panama Canal and motor trips to several places in Canada and the U.S.A. He also enjoyed making very good wine. <br> <br>While his journey has now taken him from family and friends, he has left a legacy of love and laughter that will allow us to cherish memory and forever keep him close to our hearts. We will miss him, his beautiful smile, the twinkle in his eyes and great hugs. <br> <br>The family extend their thanks to Jack Quail for his friendship and support to Tom and his family. <br> <br>Celebration of Tom’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 04, 2017 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. A private interment will take place at a later date at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. <br> <br>Donations may be made to Parkinsons Society of Manitoba or the charity of one’s choice. <br> <br> <br> <br></div>
