We are saddened by the peaceful passing of our father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother,

A longtime resident of St Vital, dad worked at Canada Packers for 40 years retiring in 1983.
Dad married Mabel (Leach) in 1948 and had 3 daughters, Sharen, Brenda, and Doreen. Mom
passed away in 1980 and Dad remarried in 1982 to Sylvia (Johnson) and with her daughter
Karen, joined the family.
Dad was predeceased by his parents John and Elizabeth, brothers Tom and David, sisters
Maria and Sarah, and both wives Mabel and Sylvia. He is survived by his sister, Ellen Burn of
Surrey BC, daughters Sharen (John Robertson), Brenda (Gary Colyer), Doreen (Dan Coutts),

dining room treated him like royalty.
Dad had many health issues, but did well until this past December when he developed
pneumonia. He never really bounced back and on March 19 was admitted to St Boniface Hospital.
The family wishes to thank the hospital staff on 4B Medicine, Dr. Kvern, Dr. Waye,,and Dr. Cox,
also Dr. Hussein who helped dad live another 4 years after his heart attack.
As dad wished, cremation has taken place and a service to celebrate a long life will be held on

Donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice in dad’s memory.
