<div itemprop="description">Ray, dearly beloved husband of Christine, passed away peacefully at St. Boniface General Hospital after a courageous 18-month battle with cancer.<br> <br>Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Christine, of more than 47 years; only sister Diane Rollinson (Howard) and nephews Bradley Parsons (Jamie); Wesley Parsons (Melissa) and children Kendall & Teagan.<br><br>Also survived by mother-in-law Josephine Burke; niece and nephew Sheldon and Sherri Scott, son and daughter of deceased brother-in-law Larry Scott, brothers-in-law William Scott Jr. (Kim) & daughter Crystal Zepick (Kevin) and sons Brody & Luke; William George Burke; Brian Burke (Linda) and daughter Cassidy; sister-in-law Diane Ruesgen (Roland) and children Megan & Jesse; aunts, uncles and many cousins.<br><br>Ray was predeceased by his parents, Metro (1994) & Beatrice (2011); brother-in-law Larry Scott (2007) & nephew Justin Scott (1996).<br> <br>Thank you to many dear relatives and friends (CNR co-workers and Classic & Street Rod enthusiasts) who, after the diagnosis, continued to call, visit, send cards, fruit baskets, flowers and treated Ray as normal, as he wanted, during the past year and a half. Being a “people person”, this meant so much to him.<br> <br>Special thank you to “best bud” Lee and family – Tricia, Matthew & Sarah Trakalo – for bringing so much joy to Ray for many years. Along with Lee’s dedication and expertise regarding the street rod, mention is made of Rick Enns & Dan Labossiere for their contributions to our ’47 Merc which we much enjoyed.<br> <br>Deepest gratitude to Dr. F. Olynyk & staff; Dr. J. Paul & staff at CCM/HSC; Dr. B. Kowaluk & staff at CCM/Concordia. <br><br>A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Canad Inn, 826 Regent Ave. West. Respecting Ray’s wishes, cremation has taken place with a private graveside service at Transcona Cemetery.<br> <br>In lieu of flowers, if any one desires, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, Winnipeg Humane Society or a charity of one’s choice.<br> <br>Giving & Forgiving<br><br></div>
