<div itemprop="description">MINERVA BUENAVENTURA <br>1935 - 2017 <br> <br>On March 15, 2017, Minerva (Meny) Buenaventura passed away quietly, embraced by her family's love. <br>Meny was predeceased by her father Zacarias, mother Victoria, brothers Macairog and Dante, and sister Ligaya. <br>She will be deeply remembered by her sisters Mely, Perla and Aida (Ramon and Michelle Aseneta), brothers Gil (Mary Anne) and Rolly Del Rosario (Maria, Nicole), sister-in-law Luz; nieces Loreli and Angel (Sean, Raven and Haise Rickner), nephews Ricky, Wes, and Noel (Gabrielle), and cousins Cholo (Ruby, Wendy), Pempoy (Sean), Hati (Nena, James, Zen, Mesia, Kent, Jun and Isaac). Minerva will also be missed by numerous family and friends in Winnipeg, the Philippines and around the world. <br>Meny was born August 30, 1935 in Manila, Philippines. In 1966, she graduated from Maternity and Children's Hospital School of Midwifery in Manila. She later joined the rest of her family and immigrated to Winnipeg in 1975. Throughout her life, she has been known for her generous spirit and passion for taking care of children, especially in having delivered many babies from families of poverty-stricken communities while in her homeland. <br>Minerva's family would like to thank Dr. Issar Siddiqui, 1st and 3rd floor staff of Concordia Hospital, Fort Garry Community Palliative coordinator, nurses, and the caregivers who provided much daily care and compassion, as well as numerous supportive friends in the community. <br>A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, 10:00 a.m., St. Mary's Cathedral (350 St. Mary Avenue), with Reverend Geoffrey Angeles officiating. Interment will take place at a later date at Green Acres Cemetery.</div>
