<div itemprop="description">It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, Oma, sister and friend on December 14, 2016. We are consoled by her reunification with her dearest Jürgen, and other deceased family and friends.<br><br>She is predeceased by her husband Fred (Fritz Jürgen), her parents Ernst and Anna Hofmann, sister Alise and many other beloved family and friends. She leaves to mourn her daughters: Christine (Geoffrey) Hayden and Susanne (Brian) Peter, her four precious granddaughters whom she adored and passionately inspired: Elisabeth, Stephanie, Jennifer and Erika, her sister Josefine, brother Paul (Elfriede), sister-in-law Ingrid (Fritz) as well as numerous relatives in Germany.<br><br>Marianne was born in Germany in Obernburg am Main and lived and worked in Elsenfeld. She immigrated to Canada in 1960 to reunite with her lifelong love after a separation of 7 years.<br><br>Oma was the epitome of courage. She left her homeland and family behind to come to Winnipeg to start a new life with her soulmate. She promptly enrolled in English classes and formed friendships which lasted her entire life. She lived for her family, she dedicated her life to helping others and left her mark on every person she met. We are honored to be her children and grandchildren, and aspire to carry on her legacy. Oma lived her faith every day and set an example for us to follow.<br><br>A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church, 254 Arnold Avenue. A private family interment will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens.<br><br>Marianne supported many worthwhile charities and would be honored if donations were made in her name to a charity or animal shelter of your choice.<br><br>Herr gebe ihr die ewige Ruhe.<br><br></div>
