Peacefully in the early hours of Tuesday, Nov. 15 at the Birchwood Terrace Care Home in Kenora with his wife Marlyne at his side, Lloyd passed away at the age of 91.

Lloyd will live on in our hearts, be forever remembered and dearly missed by his loving wife Marlyne, daughters Karen, Val (Glenn), sons Craig (Kathy) and Noel ( Alvina), granddaughters Kristy, Cathy, Lauren, Shawndah, grandsons Ben and Wayne, great grandchildren, Milla, Molly, Julia, Chloe and James, and surviving brother Russ.

After love at first sight, Lloyd and Marlyne married and settled into a long loving relationship lasting 65 years. Lloyd was an endearing and devoted father to his 4 children and always extended a helping hand to other children who were in need.

He was also very invested in his friends whom he stood by and helped in any way without question. His big heart was a blessing to many.

He enjoyed years of gatherings with friends, family, neighbors and his church family. Being at nature's doorstep, the family lake cottage, gave Lloyd a lifetime of joy and memories with his children and grandchildren, involving many afternoons on the beach, boat rides, bbq’s and bonfires.

An extremely intelligent man, eager to learn just about anything , he lead a very successful and accomplished career as a Cereal Chemist with revolutionary contributions made to the flour milling , grain trade, and food production industries. In cooperation with St. Boniface Hospital, he developed the first viable gluten free flour for use with Celiac disease patients, helping thousands of people. His highly acclaimed gluten free products under the Celimix brand have sold

nationwide or over 45 years.

Lloyd’s lifelong career began with his purchase of a small laboratory from B.Guy Hunt, which he ultimately cultivated into the most trusted and highly sought after labs servicing the grain industry. Renaming the company as Central Testing Laboratories, he serviced many of the largest grain trade companies including Cargill and Richardsons among others. His ongoing innovations and state of the art equipment gained him unquestioned respect in the food and grain industry.

Lloyd retired in 1988, sold the company and the Central Testing Laboratory name remained with the new ownership. Lloyd maintained consultation while the laboratory expanded and became one of the few feed and forage testing facilities

in western Canada. It was then bought in 2013 by a large German company, and the subsequent expansion of Central Testing over the years is a true legacy to Lloyd's memory. The quality and integrity that he held dear was instilled in his employees and onto future generations.

The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to all the dedicated people who were involved in his care in Kenora at the Birchwood Terrace Care Home. The nurses and caregivers often went above and beyond with their loving attention to him.

A private service will be held by his immediate family.

We love you, are so proud of you and will miss you always.
