<div itemprop="description">It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father with his family by his side on November 9, 2016. <br> <br>Dad is survived by his children David, Debbie (Jim) and Alan (Jan), grandchildren Karen (Dmitri), Laura (Rob), Marnie (Justin), Craig, Neil, Lainie, Kyle (Amanda), Brittany, great grandsons Oscar, Heath and his little dog Abby. <br> <br>Dad also leaves behind his niece Johanna Denesiuk (Gille), brother and sister -in- law, Rene & Mary Lussier, Donald & Lucille Rondeau, Robert & Claudette Lussier, Margaret Lussier, numerous other nieces, nephews and special friends. <br> <br>Dad was predeceased by his soul mate and loving wife of 60 years Denise, parents Joseph and Anna, brother Harry, sisters Josephine, Agnes, Stephanie (Nick) Iwanko ,Irene (Harold) Ruthig, Mary (Walter) Stephanchew, brother -in- law Donald Lussier, sister -in- law Norma Clark, bother -in- law Edgar Clark, and sister -in- law Arlene Lussier. <br> <br>Dad was born in Winnipeg, September 29, 1929. Dad met mom the love of his life one February evening in 1950 at a popular dance club. They dated, became engaged and on July 5, 1952 were married in the Catholic Church in Somerset MB. <br> <br>In their formative years the family moved several times due to company relocations. Dad was a great provider to his family always advancing in his career. <br> <br>His talents in both composing music and writing lyrics earned him recordings, awards and recognitions. His love and talent for writing poetry touched everyone's heart. <br> <br>Dad’s love of animals was well known in the Wolseley area, always walking his companion Simba, and later Abby, with treats in hand for all the other neighborhood dogs. <br> <br>There are so many wonderful memories of family times travelling North America, spending time together at the cottage in Whytewold, and countless gatherings at the family home in their sunroom overlooking the river. <br> <br>Dad was a dedicated loving husband, and a loving, caring, supportive father, second to none. <br> <br>Dad was charismatic, charming and had a bigger than life personality. <br> <br>His numerous talents and overall friendly nature were admired by everyone who was lucky enough to have met him. <br> <br>Dad leaves us, to dance again in heaven with our beloved mom. <br> <br>He is now in God's safe keeping and awaiting our arrival. <br> <br>“You Are Our Sunshine” <br> <br>The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the St. Boniface Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion. <br> <br>A private family interment has taken place at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. An open house celebration of Joe's life will be held. <br> <br>In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Joe's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or the Winnipeg Humane Society. <br> <br> <br> <br></div>
