Josefina Corpuz Estabillo

In loving memory of Josefina Corpuz Estabillo, 70 years old, who after a lengthy illness passed away peacefully with her beloved sister Demie and close family friend Cita by her side on July 21, 2016.

She was predeceased by her parents (Lucena and Alfredo), her sister Adelaida, her brothers (Jose, Alex and Narding).

Josie will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her sisters, nephews and nieces.

Josefina Estabillo or lovingly called "Josie" by her friends or "Auntie Del" by her nephews and nieces, came to Canada with one thought in her mind... to help her family back in the Philippines (a purpose common to all Filipinos who worked abroad). Josie worked here in Canada since1975 and fulfilled her promise to help her family. She helped send her nieces and nephews to school, believing that education is the best gift that will change a person's life and that this is something that will last a lifetime. She lived simply so she can give some money to be used for livelihood projects of her brothers and sisters. Her generosity was not only experienced by her relatives but also by some friends who needed help. Giving was Josie's way of showing her love to people who meant a lot to her.

To her nieces and nephews, Josie was like a lighted candle in dark showing the direction to the end of the tunnel. In her own way Josie was able to give people HOPE and helped them FIND MEANING in their lives. Her unselfish deeds showed her obedience, faith and trust to her Creator.

A funeral service will be held on July 30, 2016 (Saturday) 10:00 A.M. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 700 London Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The urn bearing the remains of Josie will be brought back to the Philippines on a later date.

The family would like to sincerely thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Palliative Care, friends and former co-workers for the care and kindness shown to Josie in her lifetime.
