<div itemprop="description">Diane passed away on July 11th, 2016 after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. She is predeceased by her parents, Ted and Shirley James (Mitchell). Diane will be lovingly remembered by Richard Gagnon, her husband of 33 years, and her two daughters, Danielle and Megan Gagnon, her brother Richard James, her sister Barbara Fraser (George) and her youngest brother Kenneth James (Shelley). She will be lovingly remembered as ‘Auntie D’ by her numerous nieces and nephews. <br> <br>In her retirement Diane’s life was defined by her many passions. First and foremost, Diane was a devoted wife and a loving mother. She was generous to a fault, as her siblings, nieces and nephews can attest to. She loved to laugh and enjoyed the sun and her pool. Diane had the opportunity to travel to many locations in the Caribbean and to winter in Arizona. She enjoyed time at the family cottage at Buffalo Pound Lake, Sk. Diane became an avid painter and a talented artist. She shared her passion with her daughter, Danielle, and some of her close friends. Diane was also a very talented pianist. She was a natural and entertained her parents, particularly her father, by playing ragtime pieces. This passion and gift was passed down to her daughter, Megan; music was a hobby they enjoyed together. <br> <br>James, Diane R. (regimental number C-M02153). Diane was a member of the RCMP for 33 years, retiring in 2012. She was employed as a dispatcher in the telecommunications centre and retired at the supervisor level in 2012. Her co-workers fondly nicknamed her ‘Mutha G’ because of her nurturing nature. She was also involved in training new hires in telecommunications in Winnipeg. Diane had the opportunity to work at numerous communication centres such as; Regina, Winnipeg, and Fredericton. She was also employed as a detachment clerk in the North Battleford detachment, and in her later years was temporarily employed in establishing a new electronic dispatch database in locations such as Yellowknife and Nanaimo. <br> <br>In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to be made to CancerCare Manitoba on behalf of Diane’s memory. <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br></div>
