<div itemprop="description">With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our much loved father, grandfather, husband and friend. <br /> Ed is predeceased by his parents Teenie and John, sisters Corinthia and Althea, father-in-law Dr. George Kroeker and brother-in-law Morley Kasprick. <br /> Forever to cherish Ed&rsquo;s memory is his wife Inga, son Paul (Vanessa) and daughter Wendy (Todd); grandchildren Simone, Keegan, Tristan, Natasha, Cassandra, mother-in-law Elfrieda Kroeker, sister Gail, brother Matthew (Cindy), brother-in-laws Chris (Marlene) and Larry (Brenda) along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and so many special and dear friends. <br /> Ed was born in Scandinavia, Manitoba growing up in the Neepawa area, the Birnie farm, with schooling in Birnie and Eden, Manitoba. He worked for a brief time in Thompson for the Hudson Bay Company and then Versatile Farm Equipment after moving to Winnipeg. Once retired he formed his own company, &ldquo;Winnipeg&rsquo;s Finest&rdquo;, which he was so proud of. He cherished his many loyal customers as true friends and treated them all as such. His kind generous heart, loving his family, appreciation of nature, enjoyment of working on his wood burnings and carvings, his quick wit and sense of humour will be forever missed by us all. <br /> Thank you to Dr. Roy Smith, Dr. P .Czaykowski, Dr. Renee Kreml, Brenda Hearson, the Palliative Home Care Nurses and the Doctors, Nurses and care givers from 3 East Palliative Care Unit at Riverview. A special thank you to Ed&rsquo;s Student Nurses Heather and Katie whose dedication to Nursing was exceptional. <br /> <br /> Funeral service will be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg on Sunday February 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place. <br /> <br /> As per Ed&rsquo;s wishes, in lieu of flowers please make donations to SpinaBifida in Ed&rsquo;s memory and in honour of Grandson Keegan Benner.
