It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of David (Dave) Andrew Sul at the age of 64.

Dave was predeceased by his parents Mike and Fabiola Sul, best friend Debbie Fox, his Grandparents and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nephew, Great Nephew and In-Laws. Dave is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years Jackie, Brothers Clifford Sul (Marlene), Edward Sul (Audrey) and Daniel Sul (Donna), Niece Nicole Sul Weibe (Tony), Nephew Christopher Sul and many In Laws (Brothers, Sisters, Nieces and Nephews In Law), Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Dave was born in St. Boniface Hospital on January 11, 1952. Dave met his true love Jackie at the age of 14, got engaged at 17 and married her at 18 years old over 45 years ago. He was born with 2 holes in his heart and was very ill until age 7 when he became only the second child in North America to survive that type of heart graft repair and true to his sense of determination he is the last survivor of the 5 children in that initial group of patients. From that moment on Dave became a force to be reckoned with. He lived his life to the absolute fullest tasting and testing all that life had to offer.

After a few different jobs in his early years, Dave discovered the airline business which he loved and spent most of his working years in and around airports. He worked for General Aviation, Transair, Pacific Western, Canadian Airlines, Air Canada and Dryden Air Services. Dave was no doubt greeted gleefully in Heaven by his 3 children/dogs Toby, Suki and Brandee. Dave and Jackie were lucky enough to travel extensively and eventually discovered cruise ships and were sure to take at least one cruise a year with their travel friends known as “Jackie and the Cruisers”.

Dave loved spending over 31 years in Spruce Sands Trailer Resort where he made many lifelong friends and started the social committee to create events that would make family life that much more fun on the weekends for everyone. More likely than not most of the funny stories from the past have Dave font and centre in them. There was not a dare he would not take or a challenge he would give up on.

Dave will be missed terribly by his family and friends but you can be sure that there are a lot of mysterious and mischievous things going on up in Heaven now that he has arrived.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 9, 2017 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd.

Donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
